This sprint's post is going to be a bit of a smaller one as I wasn't able to work on the game a ton last week. I'm still working out the art style and I think I'm close. I created some temp assets for the time being just to have something that aren't isometric diamonds and cubes.
I created two moodboards to try and get a good understanding of the style that I want. I think I am going to go the pixel art route as it's what I know best and I think I can come up with something pretty solid using it. The moodboard on the left showcases some of the games that I want to emulate the style/feeling with my game. The first thing is that I want the game to feel cozy so I looked at games like Little Witch in the Woods and Glimmerwick as examples. The moodboard on the right demonstrates more of the exact isometric feel I'm aiming for.
Below is a screenshot of all of the new assets that are currently in the game. As I mentioned before These are all very much temp assets and are by no means the final assets for any of these items.
For the next sprint I want to get the Cauldron all set up and work on some of the NPC behaviors. Right now the Cauldron technically works however it is still very buggy and I'd like to get most of the functionallity fixed. Also, I have some basic dialogue in the game but the NPC's don't really do anything yet. I want to get some sort of pathing implemented in the next sprint. I know this next sprint is going to be a bit more than the previous ones but I'm hoping that I'll be able to finish both in the two weeks!
